We Made It!!!
I would love to have a nice commemorative picture of this, but Spencer missed 4 successive "Welcome to Ithaca!" signs... Ah well.
If you'd like to see all the pictures from the road trip, just follow the link on the right (under the giant CDM logo).

Road Quote #10
Attendant at Oklahoma Turnpike toll booth upon giving me change for a ten dollar bill: "One and five make TEE-en."
Who knew there were that many vowels in "ten"...
Road Quote #9
C: We're *walking* from Walmart to McDonald's; that's so un-American.
S: Well, take out the walking part and it's quinticentially American.

Road Quote #5
Flash... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, BOOM
"Hey, the storm's only six miles away."
Flash... 1, 2, BOOM
"Wow, that really got closer."
Fla...BOOM
"$#*%!!!"
Road Quote #3
Wisdom picked up while camping at the Grand Canyon: car outlets cannot power a microwave. (We hereby pay tribute to those valiant taquitos who were packed in vain)

The Plan: Get your kicks, and then some...
After some seriously last-minute/late-night planning, Spencer and I have finally hashed out a plan. It is essentially a variation on Route 66. We will camp for a day at the Grand Canyon (to which neither of us has ever been), we will then spend a night at my uncle's house in Santa Fe, drive the next two days to Chicago, stopping in St. Louis, stay overnight in Toledo, and then get back on the road one last time to arrive in Ithaca after 6 days and 3,063 miles.
